Shaykha Saleha Bukhari

Shaykha Saleha completed her Alimiyyah Studies and the Dawratul Hadith programme at Ebrahim College in the Summer of 2018. Additionally, she holds a Bsc (hons) in Computing.

 

At EC, she studied under many prominent UK scholars including Sh. Akram Nadwi, Mufti Barkatullah, Sh. Abdul Hakim Murad, Sh. Shams-Ad Duha, Sh. Sbini, Sh. Mujahid, Sh. Bhuta, Sh. Ashraf Zaman, Mufti Khalid, and Dr Ibrahim Harvey

 

She is a student of Qari Bashir Ahmed Siddique of Madinah Al Munawwara and has received Ijaaza in qira’a from him in the riwayas of Hafs & Shu’ba. Having completed the riwaya of Qalun, she is currently reciting Warsh. She has also studied the seven authentic qira'at under the guidance of Sh. Amjad Sheikh.

  • Since graduation, she has been working with various Shariah councils and Muslim organisations, specialising in Islamic Law on marriage & divorce. 

  • Member of a Multi-Faith Chaplaincy team at Canary Wharf.

  • Islamic Advisor with Nour DV.

  • Member of the Menstrual Matters project of Whitethread (Run by female scholars under the guidance of Mufti Abdur Rahman Mangera).

  • Judge for female contestants in the yearly qiraat competitions (National Hufadh Association).

Shaykha Saleha has been a teacher in Quran & Tajweed for over 7 years and is currently teaching Quran, Tajweed, Fiqh, Arabic, Islamic studies at Ebrahim College, Q-Iman, Hafs Academy, and other online platforms.

 

She is an advocate and believer in the empowerment of Muslim women through education and has delivered lectures/courses for the civil service, at universities and within the Muslim community.

 

Shaykha Saleha is pursuing postgraduate studies in Islamic law at SOAS. She lives in London with her husband and is a mother to two young men.
